Vicarious Calibration for NASA Facility E-MAS, MAS and MASTER Images

Objective

Through a more active partnership with NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), we are developing col/val and geometry vicarious calibration protocols for the E-MAS, MAS and MASTER spectrometer systems and AMS thermal imager.  Such improvements will allow rigorous prelaunch testing of quantitative algorithms for the next generation satellite instruments, thus bringing the technology to a new generation of science validity.  A second objective is to train STEM students in vicarious calibration for airborne remote sensing instrumentation.
